Blog Post #4

The purpose of my paper that I am writing is to identify the similarities and the differences of a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). As a CNA and also a student in pre-nursing, I decided to use both for my compare and contrast essay. I find this diagram to be a motivational tool, because the thought of going to school for that long is very terrifying. Looking at this helps give me that boost and also gives me that motivation to want to better myself to further my education to become the Nurse that I have always wanted to be.

  1. Good choice considering your goal! Will definitely be some motivation, and even some insight for yourself.

  2. I am excited to read your essay! I too am hoping to go into the field of nursing, but I do not have the CNA experience that you do.

  3. I think that it's great that you are working your way up to RN from CNA. That is awesome! This looks like a great motivator to keep you moving!

  4. This is awesome because I'm also looking to go into nursing and I am aware of the requirements of an RN but I have not been introduced to a CNA. I hope your essay is very informative so that I may learn some thing new. Great Venn Diagram.

  5. This hits close to home just because my sister debated on whether to pursue her RN versus sticking with a CNA. Granted, pay would increase, but she found she had more of a connection with her patients as a CNA. She is now in adminstration, so things are different, but she works PT as a CNA, still. Whatever field, both are honorable.

  6. I am going through the same situation that your sister was going through. I have been a CNA for 11 years now and working as a CNA is all I know. I did try quite a few times to take the next step and go back to school to further my education but ended up not moving forward due to life. This time I stopped making excuses and pushed myself to go to school. It's been a challenge being a full time student and working part time.
